2014 PORSCHE CAYMAN

I'm selling my 981 Cayman S manual.

The manual version of the S is a pretty rare sight, with the vast majority sold being PDK. They don't seem to come up for sale very often. I took quite a while to find this example (it had to be a manual) and it was my intention to keep it for the long term, but a young family, house move and a classic car restoration mean it no longer fits into my life so unfortunately it needs to find a new home.

The combination of a fantastically well-balanced mid-engined chassis, rear wheel drive, raucous 3.4l naturally aspirated flat six and a slick manual gearbox is a pretty intoxicating, analogue experience. The 981 series still looks great (personally I prefer the styling to the 718) and the upgraded 20” satin finished Carrera S wheels set it off nicely.

The 9A1 engine has a reputation for solid reliability and this is backed up by a full 12 year service at Northway just a month ago who gave the car a clean bill of health.

There are a few minor stone chips and swirl marks commensurate with a 12 year-old car, but overall it has been very well cared for and meticulously maintained throughout it’s life, showing just over 50,00 miles. The car is kept garaged and averages about 4,000 miles a year as a third car. I purchased the car from well-renowned specialist RPM Technik in May 2023, as did the previous owner. It received a full geo alignment and setup from RPM shortly after purchase and it has been maintained by Northway since with all of the invoices and receipts in the history folder to back this up. The MOT has recently been renewed in May.

The tyres are all Pirelli P-Zero’s with a good amount of tread left. Both rears were replaced less than a year ago.

The previous owner added an Apple Carplay / Android Auto installation which integrates with the Porsche PCM unit. It has sat-nav, cruise control, rear park assist and heated 14 way adjustable seats with bi-colour extended leather. It has the upgraded Bose speakers which sound great (but not as good as the flat six ;)

The only option I really wanted that it didn't have when I bought it was PSE, so I had this added by Northway at great expense. It sounds incredible and being new the actuators function perfectly.

All in all, it’s a fantastic car, there isn’t much out there that ticks all the same boxes for the price.
