Description
Renaultsport Clio 182 - 2005 - 34k miles only
I’ve owned this car nearly 8 years, purchased from a Renault collector who had purchased from its original owner.
With 34750 miles the car is in excellent shape as you would expect. It has been specialist serviced throughout my ownership (previously maintained by Ren7oaks and main dealer) and I’ve maintained it regardless of mileage covered, including the big service (cambelt / water pump / dephaser pulley) <2k miles ago. Mechanically it’s in great shape and pulls well through all gears.
Comes with two original keys, log book, a binder of paperwork including the original bill of sale. Additionally, I have the unused original Renault toolkit, tyre inflator kit, towing eye, and luggage netting (still in its original shrink wrap 20+ years later). The car is a Full Fat model with both Cup packs.
The car is unmodified save its exhaust, and front splitter, both of which are sadly unavailable from Renault. I replaced the OEM exhaust with a Milltek stainless steel unit last year when the original finally gave up after 24 years; I was very particular to get something that matched the original look and sound as closely as possible and purchased directly from Milltek to achieve this. The splitter was replaced with a replica part made from higher quality plastic (not the ill-fitting Skoda Fabia part that many other cars have).
There’s a couple of exterior bits that are worth highlighting — a mark on the near side front bumper (a car park scrape by another car); the drivers side mirror glass needs to be reattached to the adjustment mechanism at the next service (thanks to a cyclist). As is very common on all Clios of this age, the wheel position sensor can drift; there’s no adverse effect other than a light on the dash when this happens. Again, the part is unavailable from Renault.
The interior is in excellent shape (the rear seats look unused), save for the usual Renault sticky plastics. The CD player works well, the air conditioning blows very nice and cold, the heater is great, and the thumb grips on the wheel are totally intact (as you’re probably aware, that’s a tell-tale sign it’s been looked after).
A genuinely reluctant sale of a great example of an all time great hot hatch. It deserves to be driven, and sadly I don’t have the time to dedicate to it that it deserves.
