Description

Porsche Macan S 2020
This is my Porsche Macan that I've owned for almost three years. I'm the second owner after the first had the car for 3 years.
The car is has a strong spec with the following extras:
Sport Design Package in gloss black with side skirts: £3,107
20" Macan Turbo wheels with back finish: £2,690
Air suspension: £1,860
Sports exhaust system in black: £1,700
Adaptive 18 way electric seats: £1,263
Panoramic roof system: £1,137
LED headlights in black with PDLS: £1,065
Park assist front and rear and 260 surround view: £884
Bose Surround Sound: £834
Metalic Paint: £674
Tinted LED tail lights inc light strip: £539
Side blades in black high gloss: £404
Privacy glass: £333
Front seat heating: £294
Roof rails in high gloss black aluminium: £245
Comfort lighting system: £219
Heated steering wheel: £189
Side window trims in high gloss black: £143
Wheel centres with colour Porsche crest: £114
Smoker package: £38
Total: £17,732
Other features worth noting are the electric steering column adjustment, this works with the seat and mirror memory function tied to the two keys - very useful if you share the car with a partner. It comes with full navigation that also integrates with Apple Carplay - this works well for using Wayz and streaming services such as itunes and Spotify.
The car has full Porsche service history. During my ownership, services have been completed at Porsche Chiswick. It has a Porsche extended warranty that I've held since buying the car. The current 24 month warranty extension from December 2025 has 16 months remaining and can be transferred to the new owner.
Whilst the car has mileage of 65,906, it had a new brand new engine including two new turbos fitted by Porsche Chiswick under warranty only 2,270 miles ago at 63,636 miles in December 2025. This was fitted due to a well known cylinder issue. For those interested, Macan's built in and around 2020 experienced covid related piston supply issues. Porsche's usual supplier, Mahle in Germany could not meet piston demand. Porsche sourced alternatives from a company called Dong Yang in South Korea. For some unknown reason - either Porsche not specifying them properly or Dong Yang quality issues, the cylinders/pistons develop a symptom known as piston slap. This is where the pistons don't fit snuggly within the cylinders, ultimately resulting in a rattle and potentially power loss. After hearing the rattle, I researched the issue and booked it into Porsche Chiswick. After a diagnosis, given that I had the Porsche extended warranty, they agreed to fit a completely new engine and turbos. This car therefore comes with a new engine that's barely run in and is covered by the on-going Porsche warranty. I have the paper work from Porsche confirming the work and this can be validated with Porsche Chiswick. Knowing what I now know, I would not consider buying a V6 Macan S of this vintage without it having had a completely new engine. The dealership told me that a complete engine replacement with turbos from Porsche including labour would typically be priced around £30k. Other Macan S's of a similar age are out of warranty, if they have the issue they are typically repaired by independents who will probably only replace the pistons. This may work as a fix but robust longevity can only be relied upon if replacing both the cylinder (the block) and pistons, i.e the complete engine. Porsche also chose to replace the turbos as they thought that a new engine combined with older turbos that would likely have some level of coking would not be an optimal combination.
The interior is in black with black inlays as per the photos. Consistent with the mileage, there are a few minor scuffs and small scratches on the leather (I've tried to capture these on the pics). None of these are rips or holes. I've not made any attempt to repair or touch these in, you are therefore seeing a honest, good condition interior that can be easily be touched up to be first class if you're a fussy owner. We don't smoke or have pets.
It had a windscreen chip that recently grew to an extent where a replacement was needed. This was completed in last November with a new OEM windscreen, not a third party copy.
The car is not due for another service for 17,800 miles or December 2027, whichever comes sooner.
The last MOT was completed on 29th of March this year with no issues.
Elements that are less than perfect:
Age related chips and scuffs inside and out but broadly in great condition.
There are scratches on the near side lower front spoiler where the car was brushed up against a bollard, this spoiler is not dented but if being fussy this could do with a respray.
Tyres will need replacing. They passed the MOT back in December but will need changing imminently. The existing set are matching Goodyear all round. These are probably the cars third set and were fitted a few months before I took ownership three years ago.
The alloys are curbed and a fussy owner will want to refinish them, They have not been refinished previously. I live in central London, if I repaired them, they'd just end up being parking bumped again at some point.
The disks are good. The front and rear disks and pads were replaced at Porsche by the previous owner in August 2023 at 48,000 miles. The front brake pads will probably need changing towards the end of the year/early 2027. These can be replaced with genuine Porsche items at an independent garage whilst still maintaining the extended Porsche warranty. The disks, with only 15K miles on them, will likely be good for another 30k+ miles.
I've checked the price of alternatives online. They seem to range between £27 and £37k. However, none of these have a practically new OPC engine, full OPC history, a current Porsche manufacturers warranty and £17K of optional extras.
Having researched, and taking into account the requirement for tyres, alloys and a small touch up if seeking perfect presentation, I think a fair price is therefore £30k.
The car is available to view in W8 Kensington by appointment. Serious interest only please. The car is in limited daily use so the mileage will creep up slightly.
