The Porsche 911 has always been a car of evolution rather than revolution, and the 997 generation represents one of the finest expressions of that philosophy. Combining the unmistakable silhouette of the 911 with beautifully resolved proportions, exceptional engineering and an engaging analogue driving experience, the 997 has become increasingly regarded as a modern classic.

This 2007 Carrera 4S Coupe sits particularly well within the range. Powered by Porsche’s naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six, it delivers 355bhp with a wonderfully linear power delivery and the distinctive soundtrack that has become synonymous with the marque. The Carrera 4S also benefits from Porsche’s all-wheel-drive system and the wider Turbo-derived bodywork, giving it a more purposeful stance and added traction without compromising the involvement for which the 997 is renowned.

Notably, this example features the six-speed manual gearbox that suits the character of the 997 perfectly. The short, precise shift and beautifully weighted clutch allow the driver to become an integral part of the experience, encouraging you to make the most of the engine and chassis rather than simply relying on the car's performance.

First registered in March 2007, the car was delivered by Porsche Newcastle. This particular example is finished in Atlas Grey Metallic over a black leather interior, having covered 49,500 miles with just 4 registered owners.

In more recent times, the car has been family owned by father and son since August 2011. During this time the car has been enjoyed and maintained in equal measure and today presents in an excellent condition throughout with a service history to match.

The car features a wonderful specification, with highlights including Bose Sound System, heated electric seats with memory, rear parking assist, cruise control and Porsche Vehicle Tracking. The car also benefits from the installation of a Porsche PCCM infotainment system, bringing modern day connectivity but retaining the classic Porsche styling.

The car has been well looked after over the years and recently undergone extensive maintenance that included replacement of the ‘over engine’ coolant pipes, a new coolant expansion tank, new oil cooler, new Top Gear stainless steel exhaust back boxes and engine mounts. This recent extensive maintenance ensures that the car will perform as Porsche intended for many miles to come!

To complement the work, the car features an impressive and extensive history file outlining almost every invoice, MOTs and maintenance record for the car. Certainly one of the most comprehensive we have seen in recent times.
