1999 MERCEDES-BENZ C

Silver 1999 Mercedes-Benz C200 Elegance W202 petrol automatic saloon with 140,122 miles.

I've had this car since new. It was originally supplied to me in 1999 as my company car through a leasing company. When the lease ended after three years, I bought the car from the leasing company and have owned it privately ever since.

The same garage has regularly serviced and maintained it over the years. I don't have a complete formal service history record and therefore wouldn't describe it as having a full service history, but its history is straightforward, and I have looked after the car since new.

The battery was replaced in 2026, and the car has a remote-controlled battery isolation switch. It also comes with two sets of working keys.

More importantly, it remains an original, usable old Mercedes. In July, it completed a return trip to the South of France and, more recently, another return trip to Switzerland without any issues.

During these long journeys, I measured the fuel consumption tank-to-tank several times, with the car returning approximately 35 mpg (8.0 L/100 km). It remains a remarkably comfortable and capable long-distance cruiser.

MOT until October 2026.

I'm selling it as an original, usable W202 rather than pretending it's a collector-quality example. There is age-related corrosion, mainly around the wheel arches, plus one area underneath. The shock absorbers will also likely need attention/replacement in due course.

I haven't attempted to disguise these issues with cosmetic work immediately before selling. The next owner can inspect the car properly and decide what work they wish to undertake.
