TOYOTA AYGO X VVTI 1.0 petrol The 2019 Toyota AYGO x VVT-i is a compact, economical and easy-to-drive city car that combines distinctive styling with low running costs and Toyota?s reputation for dependable engineering. Its compact dimensions, light controls and excellent visibility make it particularly well suited to town driving, commuting and new drivers, while the five-door layout provides useful everyday practicality.Power comes from Toyota?s 1.0-litre VVT-i three-cylinder petrol engine, producing approximately 72 bhp and 93 Nm of torque. The lightweight construction of the AYGO means the small petrol engine provides perfectly adequate performance for everyday use while keeping fuel consumption and running costs low. The VVT-i variable valve timing system is designed to balance efficiency with smooth and responsive performance. The engine is typically paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, providing straightforward and easy operation around town. The AYGO's compact size and tight turning circle make it particularly easy to manoeuvre through busy streets and into smaller parking spaces, while the petrol engine is ideally suited to shorter journeys where a diesel vehicle may be less appropriate.Externally, the 2019 AYGO has a distinctive and youthful appearance, dominated by Toyota's recognisable X-shaped front-end design. Its angular headlights, sculpted bumpers and compact proportions give the car plenty of character and help it stand out from more conventional small hatchbacks. Inside, the AYGO has a simple and functional cabin with controls positioned for easy operation. Depending on the exact x specification, equipment can include features such as LED daytime running lights, electric front windows, remote central locking, audio connectivity and steering-wheel-mounted controls, with specification varying between individual versions and optional equipment.Despite its small exterior dimensions, the AYGO provides five-door access and seating for four people. The rear seats can be folded when additional luggage capacity is required, making the car practical enough for everyday shopping, smaller luggage and general day-to-day use. On the road, the AYGO is light and nimble, with responsive steering and a suspension setup designed to provide comfortable everyday driving. The 1.0 VVT-i petrol engine is particularly at home in urban environments but remains capable of travelling on faster A-roads and motorways when required.Safety equipment typically includes multiple airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, hill-start assistance, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points, providing a reassuring selection of safety features for a compact city car.Overall, the 2019 Toyota AYGO x 1.0 VVT-i is an economical and straightforward small petrol hatchback offering a combination of approximately 72 bhp, low running costs, five-door practicality, compact dimensions and distinctive Toyota styling.
