2000 CATERHAM SEVEN (S3)

It’s a factory build year 2000 car , with a low number of owners (5 in 25 years) and low miles. 10k miles subject to go up as I still intend to use it when commitments and weather allow.

R500 Caterham/Minister Power 1.8 litre K-Series engine (anti tamper seals still intact) with forged steel crank and con-rods, Cosworth pistons, magnesium sump and bell housing, low inertia flywheel, Caterham magnesium roller barrel throttles and induction system, MBE ECU, producing 230bhp at 8,600rpm

Caterham 6-speed gearbox

Dry sump oil/lubrication system

Alloy radiator, Oil cooler and Apollo Tank.

Titanium silencer (repackable). Repacked on 29 August

3.62 Ford Sierra type final drive with limited slip differential

Mick Barnby magnesium wheels (staggered sizes, front to rear). Crack tested in 2025.

R500 adjustable platform coil springs and Bilstein telescopic dampers

Wide track front suspension with ‘aero’ section wishbones

Rear suspension with Watts linkage and adjustable antiroll bar

Avon ZZS tyres

Uprated brake master cylinder with 4-pot front calipers and vented discs

Carbon fibre :- nosecone, front wings, rear wings (painted), wing protectors (unpainted), front indicator shrouds (unpainted) and dashboard

Black pack heated windscreen and fittings.

Trackday FIA rollover bar - large gauge tubing and diagonal bracing. Unused petty strut also included.

Full weather equipment (windscreen with wipers, doors/sidescreens, hood and bag)

New MOT, running through to August 29th 2027.

I purchased the R500 on Sept 5th . 2025. Since that time I have completed almost 4000 miles.

The car underwent a comprehensive service before I collected it from Sevens and Classics at Brands Hatch.

Timing belt , engine oil, gearbox oil and filter.

Since buying it . I replaced , plugs, leads, cap, arm . Changed the oil 3 times . Oil and filter is there to go with car, as well as some other spares that I have purchased .

A few hundred miles before my ownership there is evidence and receipts for a comprehensive engine health check including borescope and compression checks.

I don’t know of many more original , lower mileage R500 K series out there , although I’m sure there could be .

I’ve completed 2 track days and around 3500 miles of spirited road trips
