1956 JAGUAR XK

A beautiful example of Jaguar's Le Mans winning XK140 model, finished in Old English white with Blue Leather interior. An interesting car with an interesting history, it has been in the last owner's care since 2016. Purchased for £95k back then, he has lavished much love on the car with approximately £30k spent in the last 10 years. This includes a full retrim with new hood, an engine top end rebuild, new water pump, fuel pump, gearbox overhaul, new clutch, re chroming all brightwork and much more. The car has been uprated to 'SE spec' with the fitment of the Jaguar C-type cylinder head producing 210 bhp as opposed to 190 bhp for the standard car. Wire wheels and foglamps finish the 'SE' spec. The heritage certificate shows that this is a matching numbers example which was supplied by Henly's in Manchester on 29th March 1956. It was originally finished in British Racing Green with Suede green interior but certainly looks more fetching in its current colours in our opinion. The previous owners have delved into the history of the car and the accompanying folder shows much correspondence between owners old and newer. The car has lived in Germany and Italy in the past and was used for European tours by English owners.

Overall a high quality example of in Iconic British sportscar that has always been well maintained and drives superbly. With prices for these cars having softened over the last few years, we believe that this example represents good value for what will always be one of Jaguar's most sought after models.
