he Car Barn are pleased to offer for sale this 1938 Series 1 4/4 'Flat Rad'

lt is powered by the 1122 cc Coventry Climax engine and has an unsynchronized Meadows 4 speed gearbox.

The car has been looked after by Ledgerwood Morgan for nearly 20 years and in excellent condition all round.

The car was bought by its current owner in 1989 and during the 1990’s a total no expense spared renovation was completed by Brookstead Panel Craft in Rotherham.

The from the Early 2000’s over the course of 20 years there was a program of continuous servicing and development personally undertaken by the late Phil Ledgerwood at Ledgerwood Morgan.

Work included a new alloy radiator and fan unit in March 2019 and detailed ’Top end’ Engine Overhaul/Rebuild.

Recently it's had its fuel lines and tyres replaced as well as receiving new hub caps.

Importantly the battery has been updated to single 12 Volt unit, replacing 2 Six Volts in Series. The bulkhead has also received multiple treatments with Danish Oil Preservation

With Phil Ledgerwood personally undertaking the works on the car there isn't much in the way of paperwork for what was done, however it's very clear to see how much has been completed.

When the car was restored in the 1990s it also benefitted from reconditioned set of weather gear which has remained unused.

'This is a really really nice condition Series 1 4/4, it's had a lot of money spent on it over the years and I'd say it is one of the, if not the best condition series 1 in the UK. Unfortunately the owner is now selling it due to ill health and it's now it's ready to find a new home'
