The proportions, low stance and carbon-fibre detailing give it a presence that still looks right today. The DBS is a proper long-distance GT, but there is considerably more to it than that. Power delivery is smooth and progressive, with a strong mid-range and a wonderful response when worked through the revs. Combined with the six-speed manual gearbox, it makes for a very engaging way to experience Aston Martin's V12. Performance is still impressive, with 0–62 mph in around 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph, but the character of the engine and the involvement of the manual transmission are the real highlights.
