Description
This 1997 Chimaera has to be one of the nicest in existence. Having just
had a full body off chassis and suspension rebuild by one of best in the
business.
Finished in immaculate Crimson Starmist with Magnolia 1/2 hide interior
and a Black Mohair roof. Original TVR Imola alloy wheels fitted with brand
new Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres. The optional power steering is also fitted to
the car.
Nick Day of Willow Sportscars purchased the car in November 2023. The
car was a lovely example with a good solid chassis, however due to poor maintenance over the last few years the car was starting to look a little tired.
With the skills required Nick removed the body and carried out a full chassis
and suspension refresh. The chassis and suspension were stripped,
shotblasted, zinc primed and powdercoated. Items replaced inc:
Full set of wishbone bushes and later type thrust washers.
Front lower wishbones.
All 4 balljoints.
Track rod ends.
Rear track adjusters.
Wheel bearings.
Discs and pads.
Bilstein dampers.
Braided stainless brake pipes.
Fuel pipes.
Full set of black silicone coolant hoses.
Clutch master and slave cylinders.
Full set of Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres.
At the same time as the chassis was rebuilt the engine also underwent a
refresh inc:
New camshaft and followers.
Water pump.
Oil pump.
Headgaskets.
Head bolts.
Timing chain.
Timing cover and valley gaskets.
Rocker cover gaskets.
Manifold gaskets.
Oil seals.
Once back together the bodywork was repainted in the original TVR
Crimson Starmist, with badges refinished in Gold. The upper and lower
dash panels have been re-veneered in Walnut.
