2009 Ariel

A superb and exceptionally well-specified Ariel Atom 3 300 Supercharged, first registered in July 2009 and showing just 16,628 miles.

This is a genuinely cherished example with only two owners from new, comprehensive service history and long-term garaged storage. It has been maintained regardless of cost and remains in excellent condition throughout.

Unlike many Atoms that have acquired performance parts during their lives, this car was ordered with an unusually extensive specification from Ariel. The original build documentation accompanies the car and records a substantial list of factory options centred around the 300 bhp supercharged package, Quaife limited-slip differential, Alcon braking system, magnesium wheels, adjustable suspension and carbon aero.

The result is an Atom with the specification most of you would choose if ordering one from new: lightweight, mechanically immense and exceptionally capable.

The 2.0-litre Honda engine is paired with the six-speed manual transmission and Ariel's 300 bhp supercharger conversion. In a car of the Atom's weight, the performance remains extraordinary even by modern standards, but it is the immediacy of the steering, braking and chassis response that makes these cars so special.

The exposed chassis presents extremely well, as do the suspension components, carbon aero and cockpit. The car has always been garaged and the condition reflects careful enthusiast ownership - no track use.

The current red, black and gunmetal presentation gives the car considerable presence, complemented by carbon front and rear aero, red/black Corbeau seats, Willans harnesses and the gunmetal powder-coated chassis.
