The fourth-generation Crown was launched in February 1971, coinciding with the model name change from Toyopet Crown to Toyota Crown. The Toyota Crown Super Saloon sits above the Super Deluxe and offers a luxurious ride experience.

This generation of Toyota Crown retained its predecessor’s mechanical components, including the perimeter frame and engine. Its most significant change was a spindle-shaped, avant-garde body design intended to attract buyers. This Super Saloon is powered by a 2-liter naturally aspirated M-D inline 6-cylinder engine, producing a maximum of 115 horsepower.
