EXTERIOR

Very nicely spec’d in Basalt Black over black with a long list of factory extras including the X51 power upgrade, sports seats, side skirts, and 3 pedals, this non-sunroof C2 looks fantastic beneath our studio lights. The whole car has just received a machine polish resulting in a lovely swirl-free finish all round. In line with the mileage and originality of the car there is an honest dusting of stone chips towards the front end but nothing worthy of a repaint in our opinion. The headlights are clear and free from discolouration, and looking along both sides there are no car park dings to report. The car sits on 18-inch anodized Fuchs wheels shod in the correct N-rated Pirelli tyres.

INTERIOR

The all-black cabin is enhanced with hardback sports seats, providing excellent support while retaining the comfort required for longer journeys. Everything inside is well preserved including commonly worn areas such as the seat bolsters, centre console trims, and switchgear. The leather on the steering wheel also feels fresh with no unsightly shine, and in the footwells the carpets are well protected by genuine Porsche mats. For modern convenience the outdated PCM head unit has been upgraded to a Kenwood touchscreen multimedia system but the original stereo is included should the new keeper wish to re-fit. Additional spec includes the Bose sound system, aluminium-look trim, stainless door sill covers, and a Basalt Black centre console.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The naturally aspirated 3.6-litre engine was factory spec’d with the sought after X51 Carrera performance kit, raising output from the standard car’s 320hp to 345hp at 6,800rpm. Paired with the six-speed manual gearbox, it makes for a particularly rewarding combination. Of even greater significance is the engine's recent history; in 2023 it was treated to an extensive £18k rebuild by leading independent Porsche engine specialists, Hartech. This was not simply a repair to one isolated component but an extensive programme of engine work carried out by one of the best-known M96 specialists in the country. In addition to this major work, the car is accompanied by a comprehensive main dealer and marque specialist service history (detailed below).

HISTORY FILE

Finished in black over black, this 2004 911 Carrera combines a particularly appealing specification with exactly the sort of mechanical history one hopes to find in a well-used 996. Equipped with the desirable X51 power upgrade, manual gearbox, sports seats and side skirts, it has covered 98,161 miles from new and benefits from a comprehensive Porsche and marque specialist service history including a documented £18k Hartech engine rebuild at 79k miles. The last service was carried out in November 2025 by Nine Excellence, and not long before that both air conditioning condensers were replaced by RPM Technik. The accompanying paperwork includes the original Porsche leather document pouch with all handbooks, the stamped service booklet, invoices, MOT certificates, and a spare remote key.
