1981 Ford Capri 2.0 S The Ford Capri 2.0 S is one of the most recognisable sporting Fords of its era, combining distinctive coupe styling with rear-wheel-drive dynamics and the practicality that made the Capri such a popular choice when new. Today, well-preserved and properly restored examples have become increasingly sought after, particularly cars retaining their original specification and character. First registered on 1 August 1981, the car has an interesting and well-documented history, having been purchased by its long-term owner, Brian Davies, in 1984. During his ownership the Capri was used sparingly, with regular commuting by train meaning the car was very much kept for leisure use. In 1990 it was sold to Keith Wright, who similarly kept the Capri as a Sunday car. In 2007 the car was taken off the road and placed into dry storage. In 2014, Brian Davies was able to purchase the Capri back from Keith Wright. The car was collected by trailer and stored in a garage in Sutton Coldfield before subsequently being moved by trailer in 2018 to a family garage in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The registration was subsequently transferred into the current owner's name in 2023, with supporting correspondence from the DVLA retained within the history file. The Capri has since undergone a comprehensive restoration, with the work carried out to a very high standard.
