If you have been waiting for the right GR Corolla to appear in the UK, this is a rather special one.

This is a January 2024 Toyota GR Corolla RZ, personally inspected and purchased by Rising Sun Classics in Japan and subsequently imported to the UK.

It has covered only 742 km – approximately 461 miles from new.

More importantly, the condition backs up the mileage: the car achieved an outstanding Japanese Auction Grade 5 with Interior Grade A.

Finished in Pearl White 089 with a black and red-stitched interior, it is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a car Toyota never officially sold new in Britain.

The important bits

Under the bonnet sits Toyota Gazoo Racing’s now-famous G16E-GTS 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, producing 300 BHP.

That is combined with:

- a proper 6-speed manual gearbox

- GR-Four all-wheel drive

- factory forged alloy wheels

- just 461 miles from new

For anyone familiar with the GR Yaris, the formula will be instantly recognisable – but here it comes wrapped in the larger, more practical Corolla body and in a model that remains an extremely unusual sight on UK roads.

Personally inspected in Japan

We didn’t buy this car unseen from an auction sheet.

A member of the Rising Sun Classics team personally inspected the car in Japan before purchase, allowing us to verify its condition before committing to the car and shipping it to the UK.

The Japanese auction assessment subsequently reflects exactly what we saw:

Immaculate interior

All seats, front and rear, are currently fitted with protective covers which were already on the car when it arrived from Japan.

These covers have helped preserve the original factory upholstery underneath, which remains in immaculate, virtually as-new condition and entirely consistent with the car’s exceptionally low mileage.

Fresh Toyota main dealer service

After arriving in Britain, we took the car to an authorised Toyota main dealer for its first UK service and a technical inspection.

Toyota replaced the engine oil and filters and carried out a vehicle condition inspection.

The result confirmed exactly what you would hope to see from a 461-mile car: an exceptionally good vehicle whose mechanical and overall condition is consistent with its extremely low mileage.

So this isn’t an imported car that has simply arrived in the UK and been advertised immediately.

It has already been inspected, serviced and properly prepared here in the UK.

IVA ready

The car has been fully prepared for its UK IVA test and is currently awaiting its scheduled appointment.

We are actively checking for cancellations and will bring the test forward if an earlier slot becomes available.

Once IVA approval has been obtained, Rising Sun Classics will complete the DVLA registration process and supply the car ready for use.

There is also an unusual advantage to buying the car at this stage:

we can register it directly into the purchaser’s name, allowing the buyer to become its first UK registered keeper.

Prior to handover, a brand-new 12-month MOT will be provided.

The car will therefore be supplied Toyota main dealer serviced, fully UK registered, with a fresh 12-month MOT and ready to drive.
