1962 TRIUMPH TR4

1962 Triumph TR4 — Fast Road Specification

A very appealing 1962 Triumph TR4, presented in Powder Blue with contrasting black trim and upgraded to an engaging fast-road specification and fitted with overdrive!

During the early 2000s, the car was the subject of a comprehensive programme of improvements costing in excess of £22,000, with the emphasis very much on enhancing the driving experience while retaining the character of the original TR4. The handling has been significantly improved through the fitment of a handling kit incorporating polyurethane bushes, an upgraded anti-roll bar and uprated shock absorbers. Further mechanical upgrades include a tubular extractor exhaust manifold and accompanying exhaust system, together with an alternator conversion.

Inside, the car has been fitted with supportive leather MX5-style seats, complemented by rally harnesses and a roll bar. The result is a TR4 that feels considerably more purposeful behind the wheel, with the upgrades combining to give the car a particularly enjoyable and confidence-inspiring driving experience.

The bodywork is not without areas that could be improved, and further cosmetic attention would undoubtedly take the car to the next level. Importantly, however, this is a very sound and solid example, providing an excellent basis for either continued use and enjoyment or further cosmetic enhancement over time.

It is the driving experience that particularly sets this TR4 apart. The combination of its lively performance, improved handling and upgraded seating makes it an entertaining and capable classic for both spirited driving and longer-distance touring.

The car will be supplied fully serviced and MOT'd upon sale, ready for its next owner to enjoy.

An honest, solid and unusually well-developed TR4 with over £22,000 of historical expenditure on its fast-road conversion, offering a very rewarding alternative to a more standard example.
