1963 FIAT 63

1963 Fiat 1500 Spider

A beautifully presented example of one of Pininfarina’s most elegant early-1960s designs, this 1963 Fiat 1500 Spider combines classic Italian styling with thoughtful improvements that make it an especially enjoyable car to drive.

The 1500 Spider was styled by Pininfarina at a time when Italian coachbuilt design was reaching new levels of sophistication. Its delicate proportions, crisp detailing and open two-seat configuration capture the effortless elegance of the period, while retaining the character and charm for which these small Fiat sports cars are so admired.

This particular example was fully restored to a high standard in 2018 and has covered just 3,000 miles since completion. The restoration has resulted in a very attractive and usable example, presenting the opportunity to acquire a car that has been properly brought back to life rather than simply cosmetically refreshed.

Adding to its appeal is the fitment of a later five-speed gearbox, a particularly worthwhile upgrade that enhances the car’s overall drivability. The additional ratio makes the Fiat better suited to modern road use, allowing more relaxed cruising while retaining the character and mechanical charm of the original car.

The car is accompanied by a good-sized history file, including invoices relating to the restoration, previous MOT certificates and other supporting documentation. The file provides useful insight into the car’s history and the work undertaken during its restoration.

With its unmistakable Pininfarina styling, open-air Italian character and considered mechanical improvement, this Fiat 1500 Spider offers a particularly appealing combination of period elegance and genuine usability.

A charming and beautifully restored early-1960s Italian sports car, ready to be enjoyed on the road as intended following a service and MOT!
