Buying with Blackhurst Garages Blackhurst Garages is a family owned, local business that has been operating in Whitchurch, Shropshire since 1939. We have been trading since 1926, originally in Chelford, but then moved to Whitchurch in 1939 when founder Fred Blackhurst?s son Geoff began working alongside his father. Throughout the Second World War the business was involved with repairing cars, tractors and agricultural machinery for the home front. When Fred retired in 1958 Geoff took his place. The present day establishment is headed by Bertie Blackhurst, Fred's great grandson, Bertie's vision is to to maintain the business within the local community keeping the traditional values alive while looking to keep up with the latest motoring technology.
