The Austin 10 (originally introduced as the Ten-Four) was a highly successful small family car manufactured by the Austin Motor Company from 1932 to 1947. It bridged the gap between the tiny Austin 7 and the larger Austin 12

The model was substantially redesigned for 1937, emerging with all-steel bodywork featuring a proper boot, as well as Girling brakes. A 'definite advance in appearance, performance and general style' declared The Autocar. Top speed under favourable conditions was found to be 60mph, with fuel consumption in the 28-34mpg range

First registered in Bournemouth, CRU 993 is finished in classic Black, complemented by a Deep Red interior

Benefiting from a full restoration approximately ten years ago, this appealing Austin continues to present superbly, a testament to the quality of the work undertaken and the care it has received since.

Just five owners from new, including two successive custodians from the same family, a father and son, adding a pleasing element of continuity to its ownership history.

Accompanied by its original registration book, providing a tangible link to its past, together with its current V5C registration document.

The history file is particularly noteworthy, containing a substantial collection of invoices and receipts accumulated over an extended period, offering valuable insight into the car’s maintenance, expenditure and custodianship.

Still presenting in excellent order some ten years after its restoration, CRU 993 offers an appealing opportunity for the enthusiast seeking a well-documented and carefully preserved example of the charismatic Cambridge.
