Introduced on 1st March 1993, the Impreza swiftly became a motoring iconic winning the constructors World Rally Championship in 1995, 1996 and 1997, and the driver’s championship in 1995 and 2001

The Type RA was never intended for the UK market, and stood for Record Attempt/Rally Applicant, essentially a factory-built rally car for the road and the ideal basis for a team to prepare it for motorsport

The EJ20G engine featured a rigid closed-deck engine block configuration, forged internals, a higher-capacity intercooler, and a Z5 / 6K ECU setup capable of reliably handling elevated boost levels

With thinner glass, no unnecessary interior refinements and usually offered without ABS, the RA has a specially engineered, 5-speed, close-ratio gearbox for more aggressive acceleration and boasting Driver Controlled Centre Differential, the RA was built for stage performances not motorway overtaking

This smart example GC8, regarded as "peak" Impreza by many, was built in 1996, imported into the UK on 12/12/2020 and registered to the first of two keepers. On 05/08/2025, the car was serviced at a cost of £622 at 41,065 miles with a marque specialist
