The donor car for this exquisite custom GTA-R build, chassis number 298508, began its life as a 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Veloce in RHD that was manufactured on the 26th September 1966 and sold 27th September 1966 to J.Wright & Sons, Melbourne Australia. The consigning owner took the decision to work directly with Alfaholics UK in conjunction with a team of the finest marque specialists in Australia. The result is a rotisserie restoration and ground up rebuild in excess of 3,500 hours that has resulted in one of the finest Alfa Romeo GTA-R restomod examples anywhere in the world. Working closely alongside Alfaholics UK, the task of the restoration and conversion to GTA-R specification was given to Alfa Romeo marque specialist, Maranello Pursang in Melbourne in conjunction with Historic & Vintage Restorations and Garage 105. Bruno Colautti the owner of Maranello Pursang is an Alfa Romeo concours judge and this attention to detail shines through in the finished car. Nothing better demonstrates this obsessive attention to details than the Alfaholics built rear wheel arches that were moulded directly from Carlo Chitti’s actual GTA race car. After some near five years and over 3,500 hours of work, the resulting Alfa Romeo GTA-R spec is astonishing. The final car includes a Alfaholics carbon fibre hood, trunk and doors, a 1750cc engine running Alfaholics fast road / race cams, twin Dellorto carburettors, Alfaholics period correct race Trumpets with Alfaholics electronic ignition. The interior is entirely custom trimmed and utilises the finest Connolly leather whilst also retaining the original Veglia gauges that have been fully restored during the build process. Arguably the most noticeable and impressive part of the entire car is its exquisite exterior presented in 8-layer paintwork finished with Rosso GTA Metallic. This is a unique opportunity to skip the queue and build process and acquire one of the most talked about cars of the past decade.
