Offered from the Birdingbury Collection, a carefully curated selection of six cars from a long-standing private Collection, this 1963 Mk2 3.8-litre joined the collection in April 2014 and is excitingly offered without reserve

The 1963 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-litre represents the absolute pinnacle of Jaguar’s classic compact sports saloon. Combining race-bred performance with unmatched 1960s British luxury, the 3.8-litre variant was the fastest, most desirable, and most famous configuration of the Mk2 range

This rare automatic 3.8-litre presents beautifully in Opalescent Maroon over Beige hide enhanced by burr walnut veneers and a Moto-Lita wood-rim steering wheel

Serviced by renowned marque specialists XK Engineering shortly after purchase, the car has since been kept in long-term storage and used sparingly, under the care of Mortons Engineering

During the current ownership, Mortons' mechanical work has included a service, replacement front brake cylinders and brake hoses all round, new front ball joint boots and new rear tie rod and Panhard rod bushes. They also fixed a gearbox oil leak, tuned the carburettors and fitted a new distributor cap, plug leads and spark plugs

Structurally, the underside has been rust-treated and a new section welded into the front chassis cross member. The car has also received a full interior, exterior and under-bonnet detail and will benefit from a fresh MOT prior to the sale

Excitingly offered with no reserve, this is an appealing opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic British saloons of the 1960s, with the added appeal of the desirable 3.8-litre engine
