1986 VAUXHALL NOVA

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 on Sunday the 15th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Estimated price: GBP 4,000 - GBP 6,000.

Once a familiar sight on British roads, the Nova introduced a generation to motoring, with the modest Merit offering straightforward, affordable transport. Today, examples such as this evoke fond memories of first cars and driving lessons

Understood to have remained at its previous home from 1988 until 2023, including many years standing, this example displays a remarkable level of preservation

Still bearing its supplying dealer’s window sticker and number plates, it retains those small but evocative details so often lost over the years

Acquired by our vendor with the intention of using its solid bodyshell for a sportier project, its condition prompted a change of heart. Quite simply, he couldn’t bring himself to take it apart

Coming to sale fully serviced and with a fresh MOT, this delightful Nova would be a welcome addition to the Festival of the Unexceptional and similar gatherings
