The Ferrari 308 debuted in 1975 as the GTB, marking a pivotal moment as the marque's first mid-engined V8 road car, initially featuring striking fibreglass bodywork before transitioning to steel. As global emissions regulations tightened in the late 1970s, Ferrari replaced the original carburettor setup with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection in 1980, creating the 308 GTBi and GTSi. While cleaner, this shift resulted in a noticeable drop in power that disappointed enthusiasts. To restore the car's performance pedigree without compromising emissions compliance, Ferrari introduced the Quattrovalvole (QV) in 1982.
