1968 TRIUMPH TR5

The Triumph TR5 is one of the rarest and most desirable cars to emerge from Triumph’s golden era of British sports car production. Built for barely 13 months between 1967 and 1968, just 2,947 examples were produced worldwide, of which only 1,161 were destined for the UK market as right-hand-drive cars. That makes the TR5 a particularly special proposition, combining genuine rarity with the unmistakable character of a traditional British roadster.

The TR5 took the familiar, beautifully proportioned body of the TR4 and transformed it with a 2.5-litre, six-cylinder engine featuring Lucas mechanical fuel injection. Producing approximately 150bhp, it represented a significant leap in performance over its four-cylinder predecessor and helped establish the TR5 as one of the most exciting British sports cars of its day.
