Finished in striking Fire Cracker Red, this 1997 Chimaera 4.0 presents smartly throughout, combining TVR’s unmistakable styling with the evocative soundtrack and engaging performance of its 4.0-litre V8.

Purchased by the present custodian in 2016 from the respected motoring journalist Ray Potter, the car has been enjoyed regularly until more recently, when overseas commitments curtailed its use.

The interior has recently been retrimmed in cream and dark red hide, with TVR logos embossed into the seats, complemented by newly fitted carpets and renewed dashboard veneers.

Further enhancements include a new hood and a carbon-effect targa roof panel, refreshing both the appearance and practicality of this quintessential British sports car.

Accompanied by a substantial TVR history file covering the car up to 27,000 miles, together with various invoices evidencing ongoing maintenance and care.

The history file also contains the majority of its issued MOT certificates, providing a useful record of its past.

Pleasingly, the chassis outriggers have been replaced and attended to as required, addressing a recognised area of concern on TVRs of this era.

The handbook, service book and two keys are present. Reported to drive superbly, this charismatic Chimaera offers a compelling opportunity to enjoy traditional British V8 motoring, with early inspection welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the opportunity on offer.
