Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 on Sunday the 15th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Estimated price: GBP 13,000 - GBP 16,000.
Introduced in 1969, the Triumph TR6 was the final evolution of the traditional six-cylinder TR sports cars, with the early CP-series models particularly sought after for their higher-output engines
A UK-market CP-series example from 1972, benefiting from an extensive restoration carried out over an 11-year period between 2004 and 2015, including the replacement of numerous body panels.
Powered by the 2.5-litre straight-six engine, originally producing 150bhp in CP specification, with a four-speed manual gearbox. The engine was rebuilt in 1990 and subsequently overhauled during the later restoration
This example is fitted with a stainless steel rear exhaust system, electronic overdrive on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear, electric ignition, electric cooling fan and battery isolator
In the same ownership since 1998, with a substantial history file documenting the restoration, engine work and ongoing maintenance. The car has recently passed its MOT without advisories, valid until 30/09/2027
Accompanied by its V5C and earlier copies, owner's manual, a thick file of invoices, old MOT Certificates dating back to 1989, and tax discs from as early as 1986
Supplied with a tonneau cover and a good-quality car cover, this is a well-documented example of the desirable early TR6, ready for its next custodian
