The Automotive Group conversion has an aluminium rear access ramp with a 400kg safe working load and an electric assister winch operated by a handheld control. The winch helps guide the wheelchair up the ramp without relying entirely on manual pushing. Once positioned inside, the wheelchair is secured under tension using four dedicated restraints: two at the front and two at the rear. These attach to the wheelchairs designated securing points and hold the chair firmly in position. The wheelchair user is secured separately by the fitted occupant seat belt. The vehicle retains four travelling seats and also has twin sliding side doors, air conditioning, cruise control, a speed limiter and dark-tinted rear windows. It can also carry a mobility scooter or similar mobility equipment, although scooters are for transportation only and must not be occupied while the vehicle is moving.
