Description
This C16 UK supplied 993 began life as a Carrera Coupe, but the car presented today is the result of a substantial and properly documented programme of work to create an RS-inspired 993 using genuine RS components and significant mechanical upgrades. Finished in Riviera Blue with Tri-Colour RS trim, it is a recreation with considerably more substance behind it than a simple cosmetic conversion.
The centrepiece of the build was carried out by JZM in 2015. A £44,320.47 invoice documents the engine being removed, rebuilt and converted to 3.8 litres using RSR/3.8 barrels and pistons together with 3.8/GT2 camshafts. At the same time the car received an RS clutch and flywheel conversion, gearbox overhaul, new limited-slip differential, RS gear shift, KW Variant 3 suspension, RS suspension mounts and anti-roll bars, RS brakes, a front strut brace and a full geometry and corner-weight setup.
The build around the drivetrain was equally considered. Genuine RS Speedline wheels were sourced through JZM and JPW Trading, while JZM also supplied the RS rear spoiler and further RS body components. The interior was entrusted to Southbound, who supplied the SPG-based seat setup and carried out the retrim work, including black and dark-grey perforated leather, customer-supplied cloth, foam work and further dashboard trimming. The result is an interior that feels properly integrated with the rest of the build rather than assembled from unrelated parts.
The depth of the history file is another major part of this car. Across the paperwork there is more than £87,500 of documented upkeep and parts expenditure, with the JZM conversion accounting for the largest single element of that spend. More recently, the car received a major service in May 2026 including spark plugs, engine oil, oil/air/pollen/fuel filters and transmission oil.
With its Riviera Blue finish, genuine RS components, Southbound-trimmed interior and JZM-built 3.8-litre engine, this is a very complete 993 RS recreation with a clear build history and serious expenditure behind it. The important point here is not simply that it looks like an RS, but that the mechanical, chassis and interior work was approached in the same spirit.
