Description
This is not a standard Exige V6. Chassis EX460 is a pre-production development car originally owned and used by Lotus for the first eight years of its life, testing and validating components as they were developed. As a result, it has an interesting and well-documented history, an extensive specification and retained original development telemetry wiring and sensors.
I purchased the car in 2024 and have since invested considerable time and money in recommissioning, refreshing and developing it into the car it is today. The emphasis has been on doing things properly, replacing worn components and using upgraded parts where appropriate, or genuine OEM parts where upgrades were not available.
The result is an exceptionally capable, highly specified Exige that is equally rewarding on a suitable road or on circuit.
Recent work and mechanical condition
The car has just returned from Hangar111 following a comprehensive engine refresh, completed approximately 300 miles ago. This included new pistons, rings, gaskets, seals and sump baffles.
Other work during my ownership includes:
- Front clam and sills repainted
- Headlights relaminated
- Brake calipers refreshed
- Nitron dampers rebuilt
- New Pagid RS29 brake pads
- Vitour Tempesta P1 tyres fitted
- Numerous brackets and components powder coated
- Replacement toe links, engine mounts, drive pulleys and belts, driveshafts, Y-pipe and gear cables
The car has been maintained with the attention it deserves, and the recent work provides a strong starting point for its next owner. Supporting invoices and documentation for the work and development history can be discussed with genuinely interested buyers.
