It sits on Continental CrossContact tyres all round, all showing very strong tread, and the brake discs are in good condition. Under the bonnet is Land Rovers 2.0-litre SD4 diesel engine, producing 240 hp and paired with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. It provides the sort of performance and flexibility you want from a large, practical SUV, without detracting from the comfort and usability that are central to the Defenders appeal.
