Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 on Sunday the 15th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Estimated price: GBP 14,000 - GBP 18,000.
Launched in 1936 as successor to the PB Midget, the TA was longer in the wheelbase and altogether roomier. This example wears red paintwork over a red leather interior, with wire wheels, a tonneau cover and excellent hood and side screens
Fitted with a TB (1,250cc XPAG) engine, it benefits from Hartford period front sport dampers, an uprated higher ratio rear differential (for more relaxed cruising) and electronic ignition
Following an older ground up restoration, we are reliably informed the car was given a major mechanical refurbishment ahead of the Land’s End Trial in April 2026, including a rebuilt front axle and steering box, new rear springs and refurbished brakes
A set of old tax discs from 1979 to 2003 accompanies the car, and a photographic record of the restoration and gearbox rebuild is on file
Used only at a couple of events and shows since, it is described as 'turnkey and ready for shows, touring and rallies'
