1998 JAGUAR XJ

Introduced in 1997, the X308 XJ8 was the first V8 saloon in Jaguar’s history, pairing the new AJ-V8 engine, first seen in the 1996 XK8, with an evolution of the earlier X300 body.

Finished in deep Madeira Mica -code CGH- over Oatmeal leather with burr walnut veneer, this example was supplied new by Doves Jaguar of South Croydon, with its pre-delivery inspection recorded at 12 miles and handover on 28 March 1998.

First registered on 24 March 1998 and supplied to a Mr Froud, it remained with the original keeper for an astonishing 22 years then passing to its second keeper, our vendor.

Pleasingly supplied with its original book packs and service book, which carries five dealer stamps from London Docklands Jaguar, Gatwick Jaguar and Stratstone between 2000 and 2006.

More recent servicing includes an array of well sorted invoices by Grange Brentwood Jaguar from 2021 to 2026, the latest in April 2026 at 29,522 miles. Larger jobs include brake fluid and coolant changes in April 2024, following a vehicle health check plus an air conditioning re-gas and anti-bacterial clean in 2025.

Now displaying a modest 29,953 miles with just one previous keeper, it's clear to us that this has been one pampered Jaguar, beautifully presented with an impressive history to match, this surely has to be on of the best XJ8s we have ever seen.
