Revealed in 2021 and built at Lotus’s home in Hethel, Norfolk, the Emira replaced the Elise, Exige and Evora. A rear mechanical limited-slip differential, independent double-wishbone suspension front and rear, and selectable drive modes that adjust traction control, stability control and engine mapping make this an exceptionally rewarding car to drive. The sport exhaust has a driver-controlled valve, so you can choose between the full V6 soundtrack and a quieter cruise.

Inside, the black leather cabin is lifted by yellow stitching and Lotus embossed, heated and electrically adjustable premium leather seats. A 10.25-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto sits alongside a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a premium 560-watt, 10-speaker audio system with subwoofer completes the package.

The Goodyear tyres measured between 5.1mm and 6.6mm of tread, the brake pads had 80-90% remaining and the discs 90% remaining all round.
