This Ford Focus ST-Line X is the top of the sporty range, finished in Shadow Black premium paint. It pairs the economical 1.5 EcoBlue diesel with the smooth 8-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifts. It returns up to 64mpg, so it's as cheap to run as it is good to drive.

Ours stands out with the factory-fit B&O premium sound system, which has 10 speakers, 675 watts and 360 degree sound. It also has part leather upholstery in charcoal black with red stitching. On top of that, the ST-Line X comes with an 8 inch touchscreen with Ford SYNC3 DAB satellite navigation and FordPass Connect, heated front seats and a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat. You also get dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors and cruise control with speed limiter, plus lane keeping aid and pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking. Outside it looks the part with 18 inch matt black machined alloys, red brake calipers, the full ST-Line bodykit and large rear spoiler. It also has rear privacy glass, LED daytime running lights, power-folding mirrors with puddle lights and Ford's Quickclear heated windscreen. Inside, the flat-bottomed leather steering wheel and sports seats finish off the sporty feel.

The car has a good history of regular servicing, starting with Ford main dealer stamps, and we've just serviced it and given it a fresh MOT. It's presented in lovely condition, a great example of one of the UK's favourite hatchbacks.
