The Mercedes-Benz 200TE (S124) was produced from 1988 to 1993 and is widely regarded as one of the best-built estate cars of the modern classic era, known for over-engineered mechanical components, and a massive load bay. It featured a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated SOHC 4-cylinder petrol engine (the M102) producing around 118 hp (87 kW) and 172 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5 speed manual gearbox or 4 speed automatic transmission.
