2010 HONDA CIVIC

I purchased this car on 12/01/2019 and since then have taken her to Trident Honda in Ottershaw for all services, as can be evidenced in the documentation and service history.

After recent online research, I would say this is one of the lowest-mileage good condition Mugen 200 examples currently on the road, supported by a complete Honda main dealer service history and extensive documentation.

EQUIPMENT: Front fog lamp delete kit with black air intake swoops, power folding door mirrors, mirror updated LED indicators (originals come with sale), OEM body colour rear spoiler(the large Mugen spoiler as shown),VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), Dual front and side airbags, ISOFIX, CAT 1OEMinterior and perimeter alarm, refrigerated glovebox, Type-R Alcantara sports seats in good condition with no significant wear or floppy bolster to the drivers side, aftermarketleather covered steering wheel with original wheel included in sale, red engine start button, i-VTEC rev indicator, rev limit light, automatic rain sensing wipers, cruise control, dual zone climate control. Mugen 200 Specification; Championship White paint scheme, restyled bumpers and side skirts, recently refurbished to OEM specification unmarked19in Lightning alloy wheels, limited-slip differential, MUGEN spec exhaust exit trim, Mugen badges and BESPOKE plate MU57 GEN costing £750 purchased 6 years ago off as I believe one of the original Mugen 20 editions!!! Included in sale or reduction for original number plate - MT10 UHL, great quality original Type-R carpet mat set protected by thick rubber mats used throughout the winter. EXTERIOR:This rare Honda Civic Type-R Mugen 200 is number193/200 and has covered just62,000miles from new. The iconic Championship White paintwork, (Code NHO), is clean and looks great it comes with a freshly painted bonnet and a small tub of the original coded touch up paint for those annoying chips. There are areas where the car has had remedial cosmetic paintwork notably to the bumpers and the nearside front wing fitment falls short of perfect.I have always parked the car as far away from all parked cars where possible and to my knowledge there are no visible dents or scratches just the usual chips as you would expect for a 2010 manufactured car.All trim is intact as are the unique Mugen badge and Type R badges/ decals. Door apertures are clean compete with factory labels intact as is the bonnet underside. Thefront headlights are slightlydiscolouredbut not an MOT failure as comes with a full 12 months Honda service & MOT. Altogether a very clean, very well lovedand presentable example.The windscreen had a stone chip in September and has recently been replaced in Oct 2026 with a brand new screen fitted by Autoglass under insurance cover in Guildford along with new wipers.

INTERIOR:

The body-hugging Type-R racing Alcantara seats, are in excellent very clean condition with firm bolsters. Only very minimal wear to the Alcantara covering on the bolster edges can be seen. Everything to the interior is factory standard. The fascia, trim carpets, mats and headlining are all in superb order. All functions, controls and head-up displays are perfect in operation, as is the ice-cold dual climate control. The small plaque on the centre console informs you that the car is number 013/200.Internally the only issues are the rotary volume on the factory fitted OEM stereo doesn’t always work, the steering wheel volume control works perfectly and there is a slight scratch on the AC control BUT I have a full original OEM FN2 console replacement ready to swap out, if required included in the sale. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: Little introduction is needed for the engineering wonderment that is Honda’s legendary naturally aspirated engines and their phenomenal capabilities, and the chain driven K20Z4 i-VTEC in this FN2 Civic remains in absolutely factory standard form. From just a 2. 0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 198bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5400rpm and maximum power output at an awesome 8200rpm! A top speed of 146mph along with 0-62mph in just 6. 6 seconds is enough to embarrass many a performance car with much larger six-cylinder engines. The engine bay is clean and exactly as Honda intended with all factory stickers and plates intact. The original bright red cam cover has been replaced with a recently refurbished one fitted, again the original included in the sale. The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox allow rapid slingshot gear changes it is one of the smoothest gearboxes I have ever experienced with absolutely no issues in changing gear especially the notchy 2ndsome Honda owners experience. It’s important to note this car has factory standard ECU with no remapping but does come with the aftermarket air intake kit Grin Speed as can be observed from the engine bay photos with a new red filter recently fitted and a spare yellow older one included. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES: Unique to the Mugen 200 are the19” Lightning alloy wheels, which show no damage to the outer machine face, being recently refurbished to factory OEM finish, not resprayed to match the main grey alloy colour, only slight wear to the centre cap areas. Matching all round Goodyear225/ 35 ZR19 tyres all have excellent tread remaining having covered minimal miles since replacement over the past few years. HISTORY FILE: Registered new on the 14thAugust2010, this example has covered just circa 63,000miles from new with three owners from new, myself being the third owner. Full Honda Main Dealer service history as detailed below, the original service book displays 15 stamped entries. The impressive service history continues with an accompanying large folder with all Honda Main Dealer service invoices and condition reports as well as MOT certificates throughout. All handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature are included in the original leather document wallet which is numbered193/200 to correspond with the car. There are two original Honda remote keys, the spare still wearing its protective rubber sheath.

This is a genuine, reluctant sale, as I now have a new project to deal with, as you can see with the reduced miles on this car over the past few years, being the equally legendary 2007 Honda S2000 which is in need of many upgrades and TLC than this Mugen, I can’t explain the logic, it’s a Honda enthusiast issue, only those who know and own a Honda will understand the utter madness!

Nr 193 of 200nr Mugen’s ever made, I believe there are about 135 of them left on the road and a few SORN, I think there’s a website you can track this current number?

RB600 fluid to brake lines with MUGEN spill protector and 6nr HEL red braided brake lines fitted all round

Good points :

Well loved and fully cared for Mugen Type R with full Honda Service History and no expense spared, all OEM parts when serviced

All my mods done by the reputable Tom at TGM Motorsport in Sankey Lane Fleet

Freshly painted bonnet (renowned for many a stone chip!)

Always used 97 Ron min on 80% of fill ups during my ownership

Never missed a beat on turn over, starts first time without any problems, no knocking or exhaust issues

All gears are super slick, no grinding or notchy 2ndgear

All standard interior including the genuine radio unit with no after-market head unit fitted that ruins the original look (in my opinion)

Never messed about with the ECU, all factory standard

Genuine factory exhaust, no loud boomy aftermarket bits fitted

Front brakes have been serviced and all new OEM seals fitted also c/w genuine spares for the rear brakes (will come with sale)

All 4nr wheels have had the outer polished rim recently smoothed and resealed so all perfect currently with no marks as per the genuine Mugen wheels not just all resprayed grey

New Iridium spark plugs fitted at circa 50,000 miles

Fog light delete kit, replaced with the black air intakes, makes a massive difference to the cars look

Standard original OEM engine block and parts with no aftermarket turbo kit fitted, you cannot beat the 5,500+ Vtech high rev engine, it’s what makes this car so special to drive

Bad Points :

The volume on the radio doesn’t always work, I use the steering wheel up and down controls so doesn’t bother me I think it just needs a spray of WD40 to the rotary control

There is a slightly loose exhaust heat shield, I believe as advised by Trident Honda during servicing, it just needs the quick fit shield repair washer & nut kit fitted as supplied with car to fix this issue (just need to access the underside of the car to fit)

The windscreen had developed a crack after a stone chip a few years ago (I have now replaced through my insurance with Autoglass, fitted in shop and fully sealed all round with no water leaks)

There are a few small stone chips to the wings and a small chip to the drivers side skirt (car comes with a small pot of genuine touch up paint I got when bonnet was resprayed last month)

The air con button is scratched / marked and annoys me so I bought a complete spare dash console surround that is perfect so that comes with the car if you have the desire to fit all the new controls!

One headlight is slightly faded (near side) I think it must have had a replacement at some point to the offside, I never noticed when I bought the car, I guess the original has aged over time, I would replace if I was being fussy!

The lower black grille to the front air intake suffers from stone chips, I would respray this but never got round to it

The front rubber trim to the front skirt has slightly lifted on one corner it needs sticking down or replacing
