First question is, would I pay the best part of 100k for one, answer has to be no, would I buy THIS car on the basis of it being 8 months, actually only 6 months on the road as it was delivery mileage on the 13.02.2014 when our customer purchased it from Lancaster Jaguar, answer is a definite YES. As a car, it is as new, as a car to drive, it is brilliant, the exhaust note is sensational, the ride is superb, the performance is epic, it has the X factor, it has a personality, it is far from faceless, you get in it, and you just know it’s special and it is blistering quick. Well done Jaguar, the much loved XKR is coming to the end of its life but fair play, the XKR-S is a fitting testament to your engineering skills, not a good car, one of the great cars. Everything is comparative and I have to say that if I had budgeted to spend 65k on a fun car, I can think of nothing else that comes close to this XKR-S, nothing, it has character, it has that unquantifiable sense of ownership that you get with a Ferrari, sadly, you don’t get much for a Prancing Horse at this price level, what you get with this XKR-S is a unique nigh on hand built car that ticks about every box I know when buying a Supercar, the exhaust note is worth the entrance fee! Genuine XKR-S in, I stress, the most understated colour combo which came directly to us in p/x on a Bentley GT Speed sold for 115k, a great keeper, who knows, one day.
