Description
Sad times but it's time to part company with my C32.
I'm selling the car as I am moving much further away from work, this means a long commute round the M25 in rush hour. The car deserves better than this and although it could easily handle it, there is no point having 350bhp if I'm crawling along at 2mph!
Its got a huge thick file of decent history. All the common problems are covered. Last serviced 2/2/16. Front brake pads were changed, Brake fluid was changed. A service completed with Mobil 1. Engine wise all is well with the world. It starts and drives great.
The interior is lovely. It has a modern feel to it with everything you'd expect of an AMG with a list price above £50k. The factory Command unit is still there and working. When cold it can take a few attempts to get the disc to read but its only the map that plays up and that is so old its pointless anyway! Its £110 to get repaired but it has an AUX IN port in the glove box. You can plug in your phone and get the voice directions from Waze through that or just listen to music so i've never felt the need to spend on it.
When I bought the car it had rust on all four arches. I've recently had the front wings replaced and cut out the rust on the rear arches and resprayed, all 4 arches are now good so its not the usual millennium era rusty Merc!! The paintwork in is now in great condition with no significant marks, scratches or dents. It looks brilliant when its cleaned and polished as you can see in the photo's!
On the last MOT it had advisories of:
Rear Anti roll bar bush has slight play
Rear brake hose slightly deteriorated
Offside front lower forward wishbone worn
I've replaced the drivers side wishbone with a Lemforder item and the previous owner tidied up the rear brake pipes and painted them. I haven't touched the rear anti roll bar bushes, there are no clonks, rattles or wayward handling. Only other thing that doesn't work is the drivers side heated seat.
Its tough to value these, prices seem very varied, as low as £4k for rusty ones all the way up to £8k for low mileage cars. Mines on 129k, has loads of kit and is in great condition. I think somewhere in the middle is fair. MOT until July 16.
I just know I'll regret this, its undoubtedly one of the best cars I've ever had and being so rare is almost guaranteed to become a sought after modern classic.
