Released for the 2004 model year the BMW M3 CSL (Coupe Sport Light) was essentially a more track focused M3 with considerable weight savings. Only 422 were produced in RHD and were available in only 2 colours, silver grey metallic & black sapphire metallic. 110KG was shaved off the weight of a standard M3. Engine performance was improved by the use of sharper profile camshafts, a bigger air intake with carbon fibre manifold, a refinement of the exhaust manifold, and slightly different exhaust valves. Handling was improved by the use of specially developed racing springs and dampers and brakes were improved with larger front and rear floating rotors and calipers from the E39 M5., This limited run of the M3 is a very special car with some serious modifications made from the standard M3 to develop an altogether more driver focussed machine.
