Volkswagen 1995 Corrado brochure and the Sales receipt from the original first owners purchase. From this receipt it would seem he part exchanged a two year old Corrado VR6 to buy this car from Smith Knight Fay of Bolton. The original dealer number plates, Window sticker and key rings are supplied with the car.
The car is in sensational original condition, complete with the First Aid Kit and Warning Triangle present and new Corrado scripted original VAG floor mats. I also have a spare set. The space-saver spare wheel is as new and the Jack/Tools are all in place.
Everything on the car works as it should, including the Sunroof (slide and tilt), Rear Spoiler rises automatically and on the button. The ABS system is fully operational and the dash light comes on with ignition, then going off when engine starts. The Heating/ Ventilation system works on all settings. The dials all move freely and smoothly.
The paintwork is in really great condition, it really sparkles in the sunlight. There is no rust on the car at all. There are no stone chips or scuffs/ scrapes as far as I can see and only one small (mm) blemish on the top of rear spoiler. Bodywork rust on these cars can be expensive to sort so getting one that is as good as this is one of the main reasons I purchased it. The interior is almost like new with no real wear. The rear seats look like they have seen no use at all. The carpets, including the luggage area are all pristine. The windscreen, windows and lights have no blemishes or scratches either. The tyres are matching quality brands on each axle (Kumho/Falken) and all nearly new with loads of tread. The Speedline alloy wheels are in good condition with virtually no kerbing but being picky they do have some small areas of age related corrosion that would benefit from a minor refurbishment to bring them up to the superb standard of the rest of the car. I also have a spare full set of the original 15" Corrado Storm wheels (BBS Solitude) which have useable tyres on them. These wheels are in worse condition than the Speedlines and would need a refurbishment because of superficial corrosion/scrapes, unless you would just want to use them as Winter Wheels. I had intended to just use them as is and fit winter tyres for a ski trip.
There is an Alpine CD/E 193BT CD/Bluetooth/Phone//USB HiFi fitted with updated Alpine rear speakers enclosed within the original speaker housings.
I have fitted a carbon BMC CDA Induction Kit with cold air feed in the last couple of months.
IN THE LAST 2 YEARS (7000 MILES) A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN UNDERTAKEN, AS FOLLOWS: There have been 2x Oil and filter changes. The car benefits from NEW TIMING CHAINS, Spark Plugs, Bosch Battery, Heater Matrix and the Control Dials, Heater hose with tee, 2 Falken front tyres, Coolant, ABS PUMP REFURBISHED (and good as new) BY BBA REMAN,, all Abs sensors, Meyle Abs rotors, Pagid handbrake cable, steering fluid reservoir, Pas fluid, sump gasket, rocker cover gasket, thermostat housing gasket, Trw Brake Calipers, updated grooved and dimpled Brake Discs, Brembo Brake Pads, Ebc Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, Goodridge Brake Lines, ball joints, drop links, track rod ends, front wheel bearings, every suspension bush (Lemfoder), Bilstein rear shocks, Apex lowering springs, bump stops, inlet manifold and gasket, inlet manifold to head, subframe, driveshafts, expansion tank and cap, Eibach camber adjustment bolts, anti-roll bar bushes, anti-roll bar clamp, engine mount bolts, clutch release bearing, ribbed belt alt/power/water, water pump, bonnet catch, lots of powder coating undertaken (- Inlet manifold,, subframe, arms, fuel tank and straps), aerial gasket, rear VW badge, leather gear and handbrake gaiters, brake and clutch pedal rubber, replacement spare key, McGurd Locking Wheel Nuts, Wiper Blades, upgraded headlight loom and replacement Osram headlight bulbs, even the lighting in the heater controls has been upgraded to LED to provide a brighter useable light. The cost of parts alone in the last 2 years add up to over £3000!!! So, to do this work inclusive of maintenance costs would be a huge amount of money! All preventative maintenance to future proof the car. I have quite a few photos of the underside of the car taken recently during some of this work, showing the meticulousness of the work undertaken over the winter SORN months.
Furthermore, several other major items have been replaced in the last 20,000 miles; as follows:
Catalytic Converter and Lamda sensor
Top Mounts and Bearings.
Coil Pack
Bee sting Aerial
Thermostat housing and transfer pipe Adapter
Auxiliary water pump
Front & Rear brake hoses
Extensive sunroof maintenance including replacement motor
The engine bay is immaculately clean and is not far off national show winning condition. The underside of the car is also in sensational condition for the age of the car. Again, no rust or damage and very well renovated. Happy if anybody wants to get it up on a ramp to show this off! I also have photos of under the car if people require.
There are 3 keys with 2 remotes for the central locking, full book pack, lots of spares, fuses and bulbs too. I have also fitted a really useful cup holder in place of the rear ashtray. As a coffee addict this was an essential purchase for me and the best £10 I've spent in a while! This cup holder is really well engineered and blends in to the look of the car perfectly. It can be seen in one of the photos.
The car was bought by me as an investment to enjoy at weekends and never sell. I have previously owned several of these characterful machines. However, there is a chance to own a car with sentimental attachment and unfortunately I only have a certain amount of storage space. If the car I want to get becomes unavailable then I will happily keep this wonderful Corrado for many years to come. If you are looking for a standard spec late model VR6 with all the right provenance and immaculate history this is your car. It has had all the common maintenance issues addressed recently to future proof the car for many years to come. A fantastic base to fettle further for a show winning car, or a reliable and stunning weekend car., maybe even a daily for someone with an even more special weekend car? It would handle any of those uses with ease.
Insurance is available through a Classic limited mileage policy. I have an agreed insurance valuation with a classic car insurer of £8500. The running costs are fairly cheap day to day. On a recent trip from East Sussex to Cornwall averaged 34mpg over 1000 miles
This car benefits from having been regularly used throughout its life with a few thousand miles a year every year. It hasn't ever been sat around for months/years on end and neglected like some..the sweet spot as far as use and mileage is concerned with an average of approx 4500 miles a year since new. This car has been consistently maintained throughout its life by mature and sympathetic owners, which should give the new owner considerable comfort for years of trouble free use. This fastidious care will become apparent on viewing the car, I don't think it particularly comes across from my terrible photography 'skills'!!
