The Chelsea Car Club is delighted to announce their Lake District Dash on Friday 28th February to Sunday 2nd March ’14. This Trip is strictly limited to ten cars and on a first come first served basis.
Day One – Friday 28th February 2014
Participants will depart from London and head directly to the Lake District, guests will then check in to the Stunning 4 Star Low Wood Bay hotel, which is situated in the heart of The Lake District overlooking Lake Windermere.
Participants will then have the choice. They can either hit the bar and have a civilised meal followed by bed, or alternatively they can head for a night drive on a planned route through the Lake District!
Day Two – Saturday 1st March 2014
Breakfast will be served between 8.30am and 9.30am with a Drivers’ Briefing at 9am. Cars will then head on a number of varied routes throughout the Lakes and the surrounding area. The days driving will take in some of the UK’s best driving roads, ranging from the steepest to the twistiest! We will also have lunch at one of our favourite watering holes with official stop off points during the day. Everyone will enjoy the spectacular scenery of The Lakes, whilst experiencing some challenging driving routes.
In the evening we will have a formal sit down Dinner in the hotel; Participants have the option of Black Tie or Fancy Dress so take your pick! Awards for the best dressed will of course be given!
Day Three – Sunday 2nd March 2014
We will finish up with some of the ‘Finest Lake District’ routes followed by Lunch before making our way South. Participants will have the option either to head straight south on the M6 toll or alternatively venture off into the Peak District for some “A” road fun, such as the Cat & Fiddle route at Buxton!
Once back in London we will have official wind down drinks to celebrate the close of a fantastic weekend, no doubt exchanging stories of each other’s escapades!
Routes of the weekend will include the following amongst others:
- Kirkstone Pass
- Wynrose and Hardknott
- Penrith / Brampton / Alston
- Kendal / Tebay/ Appleby
- Honnister Pass
- The Eden Valley “A-Roads”
- Coniston Water (Bluebird and the Waterspeed record)
Prepare yourself for some of the most thrilling and challenging driving you will find on UK roads.
Entry Price is £195 per person based on two people sharing one hotel room otherwise sole occupancy is £230.
