The gentleman was clearly fastidious with paperwork as he retained copies of the majority (if not all) of his maintenance invoices. For the first five years and 54,000 miles of his ownership he took the car to the authorised Aston Martin servicing agent in Greenwich, London SE10, and 1982 the owner moved north to work from another of the company's offices in Durham and had local specialists maintain the car for him. A year later he had a local restoration company carry out a light restoration and repaint of the body. It is unknown when the gentleman relinquished the car but we know due to invoices made out to his company that he owned it until at least the middle of 1985. Additionally, detailed in an undated invoice it is apparent he had the engine rebuilt by his local authorised Aston Martin dealer in Houghton-le-Spring, presumably not long before selling the car.In early 1990 the V8 was held by a classic car dealer near Scarborough who could well have registered the car in his name, as an additional owner was added in the registration document between the former owner in Durham and the next owner who was an Aston Martin Owners Club member near York. An invoice in the file shows the dealer had the automatic gearbox overhauled just prior to sale and the recorded mileage at this time is believed to have been just over 100,000 miles.Regular maintenance was undertaken by the new owner and in 1992 they instructed a recognised Aston Martin specialist to carry out some body repairs which included replacing the sills and repainting the car. The grille was also modified at this time to accommodate some driving lights. After eighteen years of ownership
