Further price drop as new car arrived!

The car recently started 'pinking' ever so slightly, which I already knew heralded the dreaded head gasket failure.

So compression test was carried out and, yes, HG had gone between Cylinders 2 and 3.

So the car is now fully fit with new head gasket, removing one one of the known weak points with the S54 engine

According to the M3 forums, these engines are vulnerable to HG failure after c. 100k miles

This is an advert for my 2002 Steel Grey E46 M3 manual coupe

It comes with the HK upgraded stereo with original CD Multi-changer in the boot that all works perfectly & the factory fit Sat Nav that is, erm, very 2002 but works fine too.

The car sits on 19" CSL replica wheels that have been fully refurbed in the last 4 months.

It is also fitted with a period & rare AC Schnizer rear screen spoiler.

After a relatively short romance, I've decided that I need to take some sensible pills for a while, whilst I sell a house & regroup!

This was bought, knowing that it needed some TLC & also that it was going to serve as my daily driver, so wasn't a 'garage queen' as such, though it is now in nice, honest & clean condition for a 15yr old car with 113k miles on the clock.

I have just had the slight wheel arch bubbling dealt with properly by a quality bodyshop & the front bumper was also resprayed at the same time to get rid of the stone chips.

Leaving the bodywork tidying to one side, it has been primarily on the mechanical side of things that I spent some money to ensure a reliable & enjoyable daily driver. So in the last 18 months, the following work has been carried out:

New front lower wishbone

Rear lower suspension bushes

Throttle sensor

Other numerous things!

In the last 6 months:

New OEM clutch kit inc spigot bearing & thrust tube

New Dual mass flywheel

New OEM gear linkage & bushes

New HEL braided clucth hose & CDV delete

New front headlight level sensor & linkage

Vanos refurb at Darren Wood BMW specialist

4 x new oem Sachs dampers

New rear top mounts

New thermostat

New Header tank

New rear exhaust bracket

6 new Bosch coil packs

New NGK plugs

New PAS pump

New PAS reservoir

2 x Powerflex black front lower rear wishbone bushes

New 'Mirror John' interior mirror glass

New front kidney grills

4 wheel wheel alignment to CSL specs

All 4 wheels refurbed & powder coated

New centre caps & M badges

In March, the car was given a full (Insp 2 bar the valve clearances) service with recommended 10/60 oil, all filters, fresh diff & gearbox oils too.

I've also had the A/C regassed & it's still lovely & cold in the recent high temperatures

Unfortunately after all this work, I've come to the conclusion that I sadly need to be sensible for the next 12 months whilst I focus on sorting arguably more important life stuff out, hence the sale.

In summary, this is a nice, honest & usable example that will not depreciate any more & is widely being touted as the 'next big thing' in all the classic car magazines at present.
