Description

2008 BMW 535D E61 LCI Touring M Sport
LCI – Facelift model so better interior, styling, lights etc, more power, more MPG (will do 40+)
3 previous owners, full HPI check when I bought it (cash), can share this via email, ~121k miles
Full Service History, BMW and well respected specialist (Richards Autos - google them)
Last service Dec 2016, next due Dec 2017. MOT 30th Dec 2017
Full black leather with aluminium trim (no wood here!)
2016 Sat Nav DVDs (I use my phone if I’m honest but good as a backup if no data)
Metallic grey, paint work is very clean, I’m not a detailing guy by any means but photos show all the sides are dent free. There are a couple of minor scratches on the rear bumper which I’ve and the beginning of a rust spot on the tailgate (fingernail sized) all are highlighted. They scratches may polish out but I’ve not tried
Quite a few factory options like lane departure warning. It doesn’t have a panoramic roof.
It doesn’t have paddles but having had them on a Disco and Evoque with auto boxes I’m not sure I miss them that often. There is so much torque in any gear plus you’ve got a torque converter you don’t need it, it still has the up and down on the stick (even the *right* way around, pull for up, push for down) if you’re descending the Stelvio pass or something.
Tow bar, I’ve only used it to tow a friends race car once
Wireless rear camera with rear view mirror display (this was IRO £400 I think)
All common issues have been addressed including preventative maintenance that BMW wouldn’t normally do e.g. gearbox oil change, swirl flap removal, repair and improvement to tailgate wiring that eventually chafes through and stuff stops working. The list goes on but can’t be bothered to type it all out here - message me if you want to check something. I can’t hack things being wrong on a car so if it’s an issue it’s been addressed and several items done proactively through research. Both thermostats changed (not a cheap job) as these often stick open and lead to poor MPG from over cooling the engine. DPF is still installed and is healthy.
No agencies offering to sell it for me for a massive fee.
No scammers, heard them all before, no I won’t accept your fake cheque which just happens to be for £5k more than I’m asking so I can give you the change in cash etc. Scam someone else.
I’m sure I will add more as I remember it.
Any specific photos you want please ask and I will try and oblige.
In summary it is probably the best all rounder vehicle I have ever owned, and I’ve had quite a few cars over years (probably more than the number of years I’ve been driving). I’d say it’s as quick as the E39 M5 I had but does at least double the MPG. I am only selling it as I’m moving overseas with work for a few years, otherwise I’d be keeping it (and this is genuine, you see it used as an excuse a lot). Only thing I would change is the runflats it is on once worn, the previous owner was a perfectionist and didn’t want to deviate from BMW specified (although he used the specialist so didn’t worship BMW hard enough to pay £120 hr labour for rushed jobs!). I had a set of winter M5 wheels on it until recently and it drove much better on that. The front tyres will probably need doing before the year is out so I’ve helped you out with 50% of the job. A heavy right foot will sort the rears out :)
I’ve tried to be as honest as possible highlighting faults to save everyone’s time and prevent someone turning up and trying to pick faults with the car to get a load of money off (NOTE: Ran out of photos to show the scratches, please email me and I can send them, they are fairly small and light on the rear bumper nearside and only about 4 in number). Price is negotiable but not by a massive amount as I think it’s an excellent example (and I looked at LOADS). Search the forums, several people who've owned both the E60/E61 and the later F10 example prefer this model. The engine is a masterpiece and bulletproof. The gearbox is apparently the limiting factor on these, the engine and turbos etc are massively overengineered, if you don't believe me look at the tuning options or speak to a specialist. The engine can make more but the torque would break the gearbox so they have to limit it to protect it.
It will also be on eBay at some point and maybe as an auction if you fancy your luck that way.
