The chassis and wishbones are in fantastic condition (Unlike a lot of Caterhams for sale) and has a folder packed full of extensive service history including invoice for Supersport R upgrade by Caterham. Since owning the car I have spent a small fortune upgrading various components to get it to a point I was happy with it cosmetically and mechanically.
It does have age related marks (some chips on the nose, some marks in the paint where doors have rubbed, a small crack in wheel arch and a small crack where spare where carrier used to be (covered easily by a sticker) so is not concours condition, but has been maintained mechanically to a very high standard and an extremely presentable car (as the pictures hopefully show).
When I bought the car it was very much a road car and had been since new. I have gradually upgraded it to be more suited to track but always whilst making sure I was maintaining an 'all rounder'. Cage was added from a safety aspect for the track but also offers far better protection on the road which I prefer and obviously half hood and weather gear still compatible.
However, should a serious buyer prefer the idea of a FIA bar instead of rollcage I am happy to consider removing cage and swapping to an FIA bar for you (after a deposit paid) to save the buyer any hassle.
I have used the car for the odd sprint and hillclimb and it has been fantastic and able to punch well above its weight in the power stakes! I have also toured round Scotland in it so it is a very versatile car, great fun and sounds FANTASTIC on the Roller barrel throttle bodies!
With the spec, the condition and the extras this represents fantastic value as the car is essentially an R300 minus a couple of pieces of carbon fibre but for significantly less outlay! Bearing in mind not all R300's have the Roller Barrel Throttle Bodies (only the more desirable ones) this really shows the value of this car! The Throttle bodies alone are almost £2k from Caterham!
Car is located near Aberdeen but I flew to Birmingham to collect and drive home as it is such a good example. I am happy to assist buyer with collection from airport or delivery (at buyers expense).
I know a lot of adverts list cars as ‘never been on track’. Mine has and I actually view this as a positive! I have driven the car 3 hours to a track, competed in a sprint and driven it home 3 hours without issue on a number of occasions. This is testament to its reliability and you are safe in the comfort that it’s not going to overheat at the first sign of some spirited driving etc. The car has obviously been maintained accordingly.
I am looking for £17,250 for the car but will entertain sensible offers.
I also have a Brian James Minno shuttle available for sale by separate negotiation should the buyer wish to buy the trailer also. This is in fantastic condition with a couple of chips in the roof and one small bash in the rear but this does not detract from the look or operation of the trailer. Brakes, lights, chassis etc all in fantastic condition. VERY rare and sought after trailer £3,500 (No VAT)
