This particular example has been subject to a very comprehensive, no expense spared restoration build, using a genuine Mehari 1971 tax exempt identity - V5C, a replacement galvanised chassis and ultra rare RHD body panels from what was likely to once have been an 'El Cid' replica. I have been informed that there were 10,000 Mehari built in 1971 (all LHD), but approx only 15 RHD El Cids were ever made, making this arguably rarer and potentially sought after, and certainly very interesting. The vehicle's identity and components have been verified by the 2CV - Mehari owner's club of Great Britain, who I have been in contact with. Nearly all the components of the vehicle have been replaced or refurbished using the best of everything, giving a fantastic time warp experience.
