Description
Rare Pre-Crossflow 1500cc example, Restored between 2008-2010
Launched on 20th September 1962, the Ford Cortina had eye-catching modern styling. It was originally branded as the Ford Consul Cortina until a modest facelift in 1964, after which, it was sold simply as the Cortina but with four trim levels: Standard, Deluxe, Super and GT. The GT was the most powerful of the trio and as such, is much sought after today.
This rare and early pre-Crossflow example is presented in the desirable combination of Blue Mink with black trim, as an early car it retains the 1500cc engine and not the later more common 1600cc engine. With just three former keepers from new and sitting on Minilite wheels with a Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel, this two door GT was restored from 2008 to 2010. It also had a brake overhaul in 2014 and as such presents very well indeed. Supplied with an original Ford book pack, green buff logbook and new V5C registration document combined with old MoT test certificates and invoices in a good history file, this is a rare and desirable GT.
