Description

Ok so I was going to keep it but it just isn't being used! So up for sale is my Edition 100 S2000. Full service history every year from Honda. Impeccable service history file an inch thick with all receipts from new including original bill of sale - nearly all from Honda. All MOTs etc. Paintwork is all original in great condition, Roof is also in perfect condition, doesn't leak and has no rips or tears. Likewise interior is in mint condition with no seat bolster wear or shine to the leather. One owners club member from new before myself. Tyres have 60-80% tread left and are quality Bridgestones, brakes are new all round. No play in any suspension bushes and recent wheel alignment so no seized adjustment bolts to worry about! It is serviced up to date and ready to enjoy. Do not be put off my the mileage, most has been on a motorway which is probably why it feels so tight to drive. Engine has only done 62k and doesn't burn oil like lots of vtec engines do.
Lovingly washed and waxed every weekend, lovely to drive with no issues. Handles amazingly with no knock or bangs from anything. The car is a joy to drive, with plenty of power to keep up with much larger machinery! The later cars had better suspension and alignment and therefore were not as twitchy to drive as early models.

Reason it is such a bargain for an edition 100 - the previous owner hydrolocked the engine in Jan 2016 and went through his insurers to replace it for a new one! They wrote it off as financial loss as Honda quoted £15k for a new engine alone. Being a terrible insurance company this process took 10 months to sort. He eventually bought it back off the insurers as wanted it back on the road, and didn't want them to scrap his car, but as the process took so long he'd bought another S2000 in the meantime, and eventually after lots of consideration he sold it to me as he didn't want to take on the risk of replacing the engine. All documents to prove this is the reason with pictures showing the replacement happening and an invoice from Honda stating this too.
I bought a 2007 model 59k mile engine from a S2000 breakers and fitted it Jan 2017 @86k miles. The new engine fitted has its 'full service history' service book with it that was supplied with the engine, with matching engine / chassis numbers etc. including pictures of the car it came from, the odometer reading, VIN plate, a video of the engine running in the car before I bought it, and VOSA MOT history check to confirm the mileage - yes I do things properly! Crankshaft end float measured at just under 0.20mm which is perfect. All invoices kept for all genuine OEM gaskets, fluids etc. for the replacement engine, and I'm a qualified mechanical engineer with 20 years of experience on building track cars as my hobby. Engine has now done just under 63k and runs perfectly. Clutch has minimal wear (with pictures to prove, nice light pedal feel and no clutch buzz - if it was even 50% worn I'd have replaced it but knew before it had no issues and was still very meaty with tight springs). I bought the car to keep not quickly fix it and flog it. I have been using it since Feb this year and up until now pretty much every day!
These cars are becoming very sought after and increasingly harder to find in this sort of condition. There are many older examples with poor paintwork, bad resprays, rust, or poor rust repair work now about and on the market. This is not one of them. Come and see it for yourself, the pictures do not do the car justice, the condition is amazing! The drive is like new still with plenty of power and the handling is amazing! It gets praised at every meet I take it to, and looks like a £20k+ ed100 as its never had any bodywork done! The insurance claim/status is merely documental, not physical! Pathetic really! I am confident that the first genuine person to view it will buy it.
Many Edition100's and 2009 cars are no longer on their original engines, Have a google!
Car is priced in-line with other rare edition100's that have sold this year taking into consideration the vcar status. If you're after a keeper then this shouldn't put you off, It'll still rise in value accordingly to others...and they are still rising! I am open to genuine offers from people that come to view the car.
I'm not interested in any swaps unless you have a B7 RS4 avant. I only use the car to drive to work or car shows. I've got back into cycling to work again hence it really isn't getting used.
